Frailty reflects a patients reserves and ability to recover from illnesses and medical interventions. While frailty strongly influences treatment outcomes, particularly in oncological and surgical care, frailty is not evaluated systematically within Finnish healthcare. The FRAIL-CARE project aims at facilitating the assessment of frailty by evaluating the clinical performance and utility of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based electronic frailty index (eFI) method. The eFI is enables automated frailty screening to support risk stratification and care planning in older adults undergoing oncological and surgical care.
